Do one thing every day that scares you.
Attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt, but recycled by Kurt Vonnegut in the commencement address he gave at MIT in 1997.
I did something that scares me today. I registered for a spinning class. Oh, how I wish I would be taught to make yarn out of wool using a big wooden wheel, but no. It’s the 45-minute ass-kicking that I’ve been too chicken to try. Since I am fundamentally lazy, even when running on a treadmill, it seems an ass-kicking is in fact what I need. I really hope I don’t embarass myself by falling off the bike, puking, passing out or all three.
